Poltergeist Presence
BaldSoonWe are pleased to present Poltergeist Presence, Ulrich Gebert’s latest exhibition at Klemm’s.
Ulrich Gebert’s newest body of work intertwines contemporary social analysis with historical practices in photography, combining hunting metaphors with physical phenomena of optics and reflecting on our ambivalent relationship to technology and the animal kingdom.
In his conceptual photographs and installation works, Gebert explores the culturally shaped relationship between humans, nature, and their environment. His installations, as well as photographs arranged in series and wall tableaux, do not follow the romantic motif of a reunion between humanity and nature. Rather, they bear witness to Gebert’s critical yet humorous examination of the ways in which we treat animals and plants.
Poltergeist Presence brings into focus photography’s long-standing capacity to depict the world in its own unique, sometimes ghostly way. The exhibition opens at Klemm’s in Berlin on October 30, and stays through December 19, 2026.
